Competency-based learning or Competency based Education (CBE) is an outcome‐based approach to education to ensure proficiency in learning by students through demonstration of the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes required for dealing with real life situations at the age and grade appropriate level.

6. Know .the sacrifice of our national heroes .

7. Understand the sense of collective belonging.

* Interactive story telling method on exploitation of Indians at the hands of Britishers.

* Time line depicting the major events of the Nationalist Movement in India .

* Showing picture of Bharat Mata and asking thought provoking question .

* Discuss impact of first world war through concept map.

* Show video on ‘Satyagrah’.

* Discuss the features of Rowlect act.

C. Topic of the lesson for presentation by the students (once in a week by rearranging classroom setting suitable for group work) :

* Role play on ‘ Dandi March’

* Map activity-: Important National movement and session of Congress

Show the following places of National movement an outline map of India.

i) Amritsar, Chori-Chura, Champaran, kheda, Ahemdabad,

ii) Congress sessions- Sept.-1920, Dec.-1920,1927

iii) Prepare a time line of events of the history of Indian National Congress from its establishment to Independence .

F. Interdisciplinary linkage and infusion of Life Skills, Values, Gender Sensitivity and Environmental Awareness:

* Children will learn to appreciate the sacrifice of our national heroes.

* Curios to know more information about Indian Independence.

* Satyagrah , Co-operation , Brotherhood and Compassion.Patriotism.

* Resolving differences and conflicts through Gandhian principles of non-violence.
